„Wahnfried leuchtet!“ by Urbanscreen @ Richard Wagner Museum (Bayreuth)

A large-scale projection mapping performance transforms the facade of Haus Wahnfried into an immersive media installation of light, image, and sound. In projection mapping, architecture and digital content are precisely connected, making the facade itself part of the narrative.

In the 15 to 20-minute light show, the audience can experience the eventful history of Haus Wahnfried as a witness to its own past. The performance guides viewers through the history of the house in six chapters: from Richard Wagner's visionary idea of a dedicated artistic space, through the early Bayreuth Festivals and Wahnfried as a center of new music theater, to the ideological entanglements of the house during National Socialism. The destruction during World War II, the reconstruction, and its later use as a museum are also part of the narrative. In the concluding epilogue, the focus shifts to the present and future of a place that continues to connect…
